St. Patrick's day

Sutton made these fun pots of "gold" at the end of the rainbow. We made them with rainbow twizzlers {placed in a Ziploc}, rolos, and a green plant pot that we picked up at the dollar tree. We also used paper filler... Otherwise the pots can hold a lot of rolos. :)
You can add a personal touch with a tag {My teacher is a treasure I'm so lucky to have you} We also made one for our non-teacher friends that say {You are a treasure I'm so lucky to have you}

Baby Schmidt 2.0 {13 weeks}

Today I visited Dr. Sam to check on Baby Schmidt 2.0. We heard the heart beat right away, beating at a rate of 163. Dr, Sam says all is good and if you pull out your drivers licence that is about the size of baby Schmidt 2.0! Of course as soon as I pulled my DL I put it up to my tummy to try and get a visual . :) The next check up is April 12th Sutton's Birthday! Speaking of...I wanted to share one of my latest dollar store projects I made for Sutton's Birthday party. It is a gum ball machine made out of a terracotta pot, a wooden pull, and a fish bowl. Super easy and Sutton enjoyed helping.

Birthday fun!

Birthday fun! Sutton and I went to the mall to burn some energy and do some birthday shopping. Sutton spotted the carousel when we stopped for a bit to eat, At that moment I realized I was not getting away with just looking at the pretty horses going round and round. She enjoyed every second of that ride, nearly the entire time I am thinking up our exit strategy... the one with the least amount of crying. Surprisingly she was okay with leaving the ride for the other kids. Sunday we celebrated Brian's birthday rodeo style.

What to wear on...Leap Year Day!

Apparently on {Leap Year Day} which happens every 4 years. You are to wear your cloths inside-out , backwards, and different color socks. At least that is what Sutton's school is doing! Sutton picked out her clothes last night... which she was so excited about!!! Most of the time I veto what she picks out! So here is a picture of what she would look like everyday, if she could! Love this girl! ONE day she will hate this picture.

Baby Schmidt 2.0 {Details}

So about the big announcement! I wanted a fun way to tell family, so I took 2 pictures from our Christmas photo shoot {thanks to Angie } I had a few good one to choose from. I picked one of Brian and Sutton and the one of me... well I had to photoshop Sutton and Brian out of the picture then I just added the numbers to the picture in photoshop and that got the message across. :)

On to the details-
I told Brian the same way I told him with Sutton, which was very few words I handed the test with my mouth wide open. Although this time I bought the digital kind, and when the word "pregnant" popped up, the emotions hit me all over again...the shock, excitement, etc...When he saw the test. I swear it was the same face as the one I gave with Sutton. He was confused and was just like, "What? Is this yours? Is this mine?" And then he just kept saying "wow" over and over. It was just SO special...I never imagined this day would come...AGAIN! We are certainly blessed.

So, what does this mean on the adoption front? At this time, we will not be adopting. Something we discovered when searching for an agency was that the majority of the agencies we talked to do not allow you to adopt while you are pregnant, understandably.

This is Baby Schmidt 2.0 at about 8.5 weeks...such a cute little blob with a nice strong heartbeat! I am 12 weeks pregnant now. My due date is 13th of September! Next Appointment is March 6th, Brian's birthday.

I just want to say that we are blown away at this miracle of life, and humbled that the Lord has blessed us again. I have struggled with a lot of guilt in getting to experience this a second time when I know so many waiting for their first time. If that is you, please know that I am praying and believing with you!

Well I need to take a nap get some stuff done before my lunch break is over, but I just wanted to drop in real quick to say hi. I promise I will back soon with more details about the gender relieving party... Yes! We are finding out the gender this time! :)

Halloween festivities!

We as most of you, had a busy halloween weekend. A dear friend came in town for the weekend to spend some time at the motocross tracks near our house. While they had their fun at the tracks Sutton and I had a 5 hour retail therapy or torture more less "as most of you know, I don't like to shop". But while I was there I did snap a cute pic of Sutton in the pumpkin garden.

Sunday we made cookies for Sutton's sweet teachers. The recipe makes 3doz so we had plenty to go around. We sent some to my office and enough for Brian's office. Sunday evening we had a pumpkin carving contest! That was defiantly the highlight of the weekend!

Halloween night was a blast! Sutton ran to every house in her cowgirl gear! She was so polite saying...thank you & happy Halloween! She makes me so proud!

Hope you all had a safe & great Halloween!

2 & half years old.

Oh my, Miss Sutton! You are two and a half years old. I'm trying not to think about it too much or I'll cry. You're growing up so fast and before I know it you'll be 3! I told Brian the other night that I feel like fall is just starting to come into the air (after which we had a debate about when fall starts) and that I'm usually excited about it. I'm not excited about it this year because it makes me think that you and are just getting older. Can you imagine me in 3 years when you start kindergarten? I am trying to take time and reflection to experience and enjoy everything about you because I know time will go by fast.

So, at 2 1/2 you....

  • Wear 3T & 4T clothes, size 8 shoes, and weigh around 30 pounds and is 39 inches tall.
  • Have the cutest brown wavy and curly hair and pretty pouty lips
  • Completely potty-trained during the day.
  • A great eater and is always hungry, will eat just about anything, but of course mostly a few toddler-approved options like chicken patties and macaroni and cheese. You eat vegetables like broccoli, sweet potatoes, and peas. You eat 3 square meals and two snacks a day.
  • Still loooooves: Shoes, bah bah (lamb chops), and your baby dolls. You always take them in the car. You love to put them in "time out" when they have been bad. And tell them you love them.
  • (speaking of telling) You talk up a storm and have a great vocabulary. You remember words you've only heard once or twice and it surprises me; some of those surprise words are "coyote," "bandaid," and "triceratops"
  • You love to read books; you have about 200 of them and your current favorites are Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy, Good Night mood…actually you can read the entire book to me!
  • I could go on... and on...
I am uploading this video so I can remember your sweet 2 1/2 year old voice. This was taken last night after we came from Roy & Autumn's. They are so generous and gave us a ton of goodies for our freezer.

Halloween Crafting

Saturday was a blast! Sutton rode her bike...she is so fast! It is one of her favorite things to do! We also got to spend some time with our great neighbors and Sutton's good friend Madeline. Sunday was a rainy day so we stayed inside and crafted up lots goodies.

Sutton homework project was to decorate the pumpkin... I asked her, What do you like about Halloween?" her answer, candy, bubbles, & trick
or treat. So that is what she crafted her pumpkin with... candy wrappers, the pom pom was the closes thing I could find that resembled bubbles. She did a beautiful job!

While Sutton was busy doing her "homework project" I crafted the Boo wreath. The hardest part was remembering how to make a spiderweb.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

OX,
Aimee

Reading is a discount ticket to everywhere....

I never thought I would have so much fun reading! My book club has truly introduced me to literature I would have never of picked up in the book store, let alone read. Septembers read "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society". Again I defiantly would not have pick this up in the book store... First of all - The entire book is composed of letters. Second - It is about World War II. But this was one of the loveliest books I have ever read. I have read a few books and seen many movies about World War II, but this one was the best. It was so real. I felt like I knew the characters and I wanted to run over to Guernsey to meet them in person. The stories about their experiences were so touching, not just because they were hard, but because the people were so brave. Horrible things happened to them, but I didn't feel traumatized reading about them. I felt uplifted at their endurance and hope, and love for each other. This book definitely joins the few books on my favorites shelf .Here are a few pictures of the our get together this month.

Market Street!

Over the weekend, we decided to make ourselves get out of the house. So we took a stroll around Market Street, enjoyed some pizza, a little splash in the fountains, some window shopping, and watched a little football.
