It's a.....

"Bowties or Bows"  what will it be....

We are absolutely thrilled and I think still in shock that it's a girl. I wanted to share the details from the gender reveal party as it was such a special time!  Alice hosted "Bow ties or Bows" What will it be...  Gender Reveal Party and did an amazing job with all the details and food.
A sweet picture of " BIG Sister"

The moment of truth...
I just love this stair case with the cut out onesie with Bow ties and Bows!  Alice made this creative bouquet with onesie and baby socks!  And Courtney made the bunting banner by sassy stitches

It was loads of fun and I'm so glad we waited to find out with our family - though the suspense nearly killed me at the end! I think all of this is just still like a dream to me....such a blessing!

DIY Headband and Jewelry Holder Tutorial

I made a headband holder for my niece Piper inspired by one I saw on Shanty 2 Chic.  First things first...you need a assistant! :)

Supplies:
--finial ($2.99 at Michael's)
--9" candlestick ($3.99 at Michael's)
--wood oval (less than $1 at Michael's or Hobby Lobby)
--wooden craft circles (about $2 for a 4 pack at Hobby Lobby or Michael's)
--1" square dowel cut about 12" long (I bought this at Home depot and cut it in 3 sections)
--hot glue & glue gun
--spray paint

1. To begin, I used pliers and a screwdriver to pry this metal piece out of the candlestick. I possibly could have left it in there, but I don't think the dowel would have sat as flat on it.
2. Cover the base of the candlestick with hot glue and stick on the wooden oval. Press firmly for a few seconds until it sets.
3. Cover the end of your dowel with hot glue and stick a wooden circle on each end, holding until glue is set.
4. Put hot glue on the center of your dowel, and press it down on the top of the candlestick. It will not fit exactly, but once the glue is dried it is sturdy and the size difference doesn't bother me in the long run.
5. Put hot glue along the outer edges of the finial. Again, it will be a little wider than your dowel but once the glue sets it is secure.
6. And there is your fully assembled product. You can see what I mean about the sizes not matching exactly on the candlestick, finial, and dowel, but it really doesn't bother me. The other version I linked to is more exact, so if this is something that would bother you I would try their tutorial out.
7. Finish it off with your favorite color of paint, and you're done!

The place I got this idea from also showed it used as a jewelry/necklace holder, and I think that's a great idea as well. I have leftover circles and dowels because of the quantities they were sold in, so I just might have to pick up another candlestick, finial, and oval base to make one for myself.

First Astro's Game - Houston 8, NY Mets 1

Sutton's first Astro's game...Isn't she darling in her Astro's Jersey!  It was a great game the Astros wrapped a 8-1 victory over the New York Mets.

To top that... Brian and I were on the "Kiss cam"!! Sutton was shocked and confused when she saw us on the "JUMBO Tron".  This is our second time being on the "Kiss cam" .... I mean some people NEVER get on the cam!  We don't have picture, but I can tell you exactly how it went.  Just like the first time we were on "Kiss Cam" Brian raises both his arms (after we Kiss) like he just Scored a goal!  It still makes me smile...I love that man!

Hugs to everyone!

Swim lessons

Over the weekend we took at dip in the pool to practice before Sutton swim lessons on Monday and Wednesday.  Sutton takes the swim lesson at the YMCA were she goes to school.  Which is very nice because it breaks up the day.  The swim teachers said "she did superb!"  I asked Sutton what she did in swim class... Her answer was the typical toddler answer... "I swam".  I asked, what else did you do?  her answer "swim, mama!"  I ask, did you blow bubbles? "No. we just swim".  I think I will have to attend one of these lessons to get more detail.  We will keep you posted...

The bottom picture is Sutton and Madeline in there COOL golf cart! They drove it over to say hi over the weekend.  We are sure going to miss them as neighbors!

Love & Hugs,
Aimee
