Tweet Tweet!

Remember the wreath I made for our front door?
Well... I'm not the only one that liked it! About a week after I placed it on the door, we started seeing limbs and dirt at our front door.  Both Brian and I would sweep it up, then find the mess again the next day.  We just could not figure out what was making such a mess.

Long story short, we ordered pizza one night, the delivery guy came to the door and was boom bared by a bird.  She flew right at him!  Scared him like crazy.  Luckily he kept hold of our pizza {coming from the pregnant mind}! That's when we found who what was making such a mess... the finch had laid several eggs in the our wreath.  After months of not using our front door... the precious little birds hatched.

It was quite the experience for Sutton- She got to see them learn how to fly {which only took about two days} and Mama bird working so hard at bringing her babies food. Something I learned during this...when the mama bird is out getting food, the Papa bird sits near by guarding the nest.  He would scream tweet to alert Mama bird if someone got near the nest.  I had no idea that Papa bird stuck around to help the mother.  Here are some picture we captured!

Cooling off indoors!

After washing the car.  We cooled off indoors at the Children's museum.  This is a great place,  Sutton played for hours going from one play corner to the next. We fished, we drove a truck, saw a puppet show, played fireman Joe, but we spent most of our time "Shopping", Sutton loved the cash register and ATM.  She would making the "beep" noise every time she would scan something.  It was so cute!

DIY {Zig Zag / Chevron Rug Tutorial}

I love the Cheveron Pattern... I am sure you've all seen those expensive zig zag rugs around on home decorating catalogs, pintrest, magazines.   The zig zag/chevron pattern is everywhere this season and I have been craving it as I decorate our new baby girl nursery!  Since I am going with a more vintage look I love adding something more contemporary!  Sutton and I crafted this up in less than 30 mins.

What we used:
Carpet sample - Since my husband use to be in the flooring indistry we have tons of carpet samples laying around taking up space.  You can also buy inexpensive rugs at Ikea.
Blue painters tape -mine was 1'inch.
Trash bag -to put under the rug (so you don't get paint on the floor)
Dry paint brush
Paint color -I used some old paint left over from painting Sutton's room.

This project cost me ZERO bucks!

First you want to tape your zig zags... I just eyeballed this..

Then you paint....
Let it dry... pull the tape off and TA- Da!!
I just love how this came out... Sutton liked it so much we had to put it in HER room.  So I will be making another for baby Sister!
Enjoy,
